Core Technologies Made Simple — The Essence of JND Electronics

1) Next-Generation Smart Watt-Hour Meter “AMIGO”

Going beyond traditional metering, AMIGO integrates optimized energy management with national-grade security, redefining intelligent power measurement.

  • Nationally Certified Security: Incorporates a KCMVP-based encryption module to reinforce data protection.

  • Hybrid Wired & Wireless Communication: Enables seamless metering and data collection across diverse network environments.

  • Optimized RTOS Platform: Delivers high-speed, stable data processing and enhanced communication performance.

  • Proprietary Power Supply Technology: Utilizes JND’s in-house developed high-efficiency power circuitry to ensure reliable operation of communication modules.

2) “CT-BOX” — Pioneering Installation Innovation

Developed jointly with KEPCO through an SME collaboration project, CT-BOX represents a breakthrough in low-voltage power installation.
When paired with KEPCO’s AMIGO Transformer Instrument Meter, it dramatically simplifies complex installation procedures—saving time, cost, and improving safety simultaneously.

  • From Wiring to Connection — A Paradigm Shift:
CTs, voltage dividers, and terminal blocks are integrated into a standardized box that connects to the main unit via a one-touch connector, transforming complex wiring tasks into simple, safe plug-and-connect operations.

  • Reduced Installation Time and Consistent Quality:
Installation time is cut by more than 50% (from approx. 45 minutes to 22–30 minutes).
Standardized components ensure consistent quality regardless of technician skill or location.

  • Enhanced Operator Safety:
Insulated, dustproof, and waterproof connectors replace direct contact with live parts, fundamentally reducing risks of electric shock, short circuits, and arc incidents.

  • Multiple Configurations for Various Field Needs:
Split-Core Type (Class 0.5S): Ideal for non-interruptive replacements or limited spaces.
Terminal Type (Class 0.2S): Standard for new installations and precision billing, easy to calibrate.
Current Probe Type (Class 0.5S): Designed for high-current busbars, enhancing safety during live-line work.

In practice, CT-BOX implementation has significantly reduced installation errors and total working time, achieving measurable reductions in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including installation, rework, and maintenance costs.

3) Transformer Current Probe (Gateway/DCU Replacement Solution)

JND’s current probe is an innovative sensor that maximizes power distribution efficiency and is applicable to both pole-mounted and ground transformers, new or existing.

A key feature is its direct integration with KEPCO’s AMIGO Transformer Meter, enabling real-time transformer monitoring without the need for additional A-type gateways or DCUs—simplifying infrastructure and dramatically cutting costs.

  • Simplified Infrastructure and Cost Reduction: Removes unnecessary intermediate devices like gateways and DCUs.

  • High-Precision Measurement: Minimizes energy losses with advanced sensing technology.

  • Real-Time Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance: Communicates directly with AMIGO for real-time data and proactive issue detection.

JND Electronics is currently developing a next-generation model capable of simultaneous PT (voltage) and CT (current) measurement.

From Energy Valley to the World

Since its founding in 2000, JND Electronics has grown based on its advanced voltage and current sensor technologies.
Operating from its smart factory in Naju Innovation Industrial Complex (Energy Valley), the company now exports to over 50 countries worldwide.

A JND Electronics representative stated:
“With the technology we’ve developed in Energy Valley, we aim to drive innovation in the global energy market. The CT-BOX, co-developed with KEPCO, exemplifies our field-driven innovation, and we see BIXPO 2025 as a springboard for even greater growth ahead.”
